Shari Hoffman earned a BA in Music from the University of Miami in 1990. Concentrating on jazz vocal performance and pursuing studies in business administration, she completed her studies while actively performing with the Greater Miami Opera. 

Hoffman relocated to New York in 1991 to join the promotion team of Chrysalis Records, working with multi-platinum recording artists Sinead O’Connor, Jethro Tull and Billy Idol. Thereafter, she joined Impact/MCA Records where she continued to demonstrate her versatility by promoting international artists in various genres of music, including Southside Johnny, Michael Schenker and The Fixx.  Subsequently, Hoffman partnered with Artists and Audience Entertainment, a prominent talent agency representing a roster of legendary clientele including Guns ‘n’ Roses, Paul McCartney and Nine Inch Nails. Her management and artistry contributed to many successful concert tour productions notably, her active involvement with Nine Inch Nails’ “Downward Spiral” tour with supporting acts, Marilyn Manson and Pop Will Eat Itself.

On the labor side of the entertainment industry, Hoffman served as Director of Contracts and Contributions for I.A.T.S.E. National Benefit Funds, representing below-the-line personnel of film, television and theatre, as well as Administrator for Symphonic Electronic Media for the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements locally, nationally and internationally on behalf of symphony, opera and ballet musicians. Her accomplishments included an unprecedented agreement providing for the release of historical recordings of the New York Philharmonic, the ground-breaking record deal between Naxos Records and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and her significant research contributions in collaboration with the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), resulting in the Japanese Record Rental Remuneration Fund.

Referred to as “The Jane-of-All-Trades”, Hoffman served as Director of Operations for Equilibrium Entertainment, a Los Angeles based post-production film company and Elias Associates, a leading bi-coastal music production company where she managed several departments including administration, finance, production, sales and marketing, and internet commerce, including the development of content, design and e-commerce for the corporation’s website.  Currently, Hoffman acts as a consultant for various entertainment-based organizations while pursing her creative talents as a vocalist and voice-over artist.

Hoffman has written for several publications including International Musician and Leading Tone - trade publication for the Regional Orchestra Players’ Association. She has presented numerous speeches at regional and international conferences including the AFM Convention, the International Conference of Symphony and Opera Musicians, the Regional Orchestra Players’ Association Conference and the AFM Unity Conference. She has traveled extensively providing educational workshops to musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Florida Philharmonic, Palm Beach Opera and Nashville Symphony Orchestra.  In addition, Hoffman has freelanced as an artist manager and publicist for such legendary artists as Johnny Johnson and Tito Puente and has provided a variety of services for numerous industry events including the CMJ Music Marathon Music Festival, South by South West, and the Tribeca Film Festival.
