Terry Barnette O’Neal, a Mississippi native, is a graduate of UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a Juris Doctorate from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Houston, TX.

Terry began his career as a Business Representative in the Residuals Department of the former Screen Actors Guild. In 1993, he was promoted to Head of the Singers’ Department, which later became the Music Entertainment Contracts Department. O’Neal was responsible for interfacing with all Major and Independent Labor Relations Studio and Production Executives concerning contractual issues pertaining to Singers, Dancers and Music Videos. He also served as staff member to the SAG Wages and Working Conditions Committee and the SAG Negotiation Committee for Commercials, Industrial, Inter-Media, Theatrical and Television Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).

O’Neal serves as a board member for the following organizations: T T and T Entertainment, Alliage Productions and Elephant Gerald Holdings. He served as a guest panelist and Inspirational Speaker for independent film festivals in Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Ocala, Belize and others.

Currently, Terry O’Neal is the Participant Services Coordinator for the SAG –Industry Sound Recordings Distribution Fund as well as a Research Associate with the AFM & SAG-AFTRA Intellectual Property Rights Distribution Fund. In addition, he is a member of the Association of Black Sport Professionals, Regional Captain for the UCLA Freshmen Alumni Scholarship Committee and a member of theBunche Scholarship Committee, Lew and Edie Wasserman Grant Committee, UCLA Alumni Association and others.

Terry is the proud father of three;Terry II, TeRhon and Tyra. O’Neal is involved in the Harvard-Westlake Alumni Parent Association and the Marlborough Parent Association as well as the Marina Aquatic Club Rowing Association and is a member of the Tim Peterson Singers.

O’Neal’s passion for music extends far beyond just singing He is dedicated to bridging the gaps in areas where he can help to protect, secure, nurture and support the music community in an ever-changing music environment.
